Wish lists for the holidays ahead

“Ohhhh, I love this black opal! I’ve never seen a stone quite like this one before. I have to have this ring – but I just can’t buy it for myself.”

I must have heard that at least a dozen times in one form or another at the Aronstam Fine Jewelers Opal Trunk Show. These ladies were not with their significant others when they swooned over a long silver and 24k gold necklace and sapphire earrings, or lusted after a certain diamond bracelet or opal ring.

With a little encouragement from me or my staff, several of these ladies made their desires known by registering them on Aronstam’s “Holiday (or birthday or anniversary) Wish List.” They may have felt a little guilty (but not too!) writing down what they hope a certain knowing gent will buy for them, but as a guy that’s been in the jewelry business for more than 40 years now, I can tell you that Holiday Wish Lists are golden!

Most guys really want to get their significant others something beautiful, meaningful and – most important of all – something she really wants. But when it comes to buying the right thing, as a guy, I know very well that the task can be tough. Styles change, tastes change, sometimes ring sizes can change. And everyone wants to feel like they hit a home run, knowing that the smile on her – or his – face is genuine, and lasting.

So – word to the wise here: If you are a guy in the Indianapolisarea and your wife loves jewelry (I’ve yet to meet a woman who doesn’t!), please encourage your lady to make her wishes known on our Holiday Wish List. She will like shopping and anticipating. You will appreciate knowing you are giving her something she really wants. And – she will also be pleased that you want her to have what she loves.

It’s a win-win for all in my book – including the Aronstam Fine Jewelers Holiday Wish List.
